Vietnam Field Trip: Improving my Skills, Professionalism and Patience

Hi everyone, my name is Thai; I’m one of the student helpers during the Vietnamese field trip. On top of everything, I’d like to show my appreciation to the University of Westminster, the organizer of the trip – Dr Farhang Morady, and all the students who have participated.

I was so lucky to have the chance to be on the trip with the students from Westminster. It was a big opportunity for me and other student helpers to enhance ourselves. During the trip, I gained a lot of skills, including improving my English and my life skills; I found myself not only the advisor but also a student as I’m not only instructing the students about the country, but I’m also learning a lot of incredible things from them. Before the trip, I had very little knowledge either about Westminster University or England. After having a chance to work and study with the students, I found myself more mature as I gained knowledge from the students – about their country, their culture, and even their learning skills. Moreover, I had a chance to work with Dr Farhang, from whom I learned professionalism and patience. Not only was I learning, but I’m also glad that all the students enjoyed the trip and gained a lot of new experiences regarding their points of view.

All in all, the trip was a big opportunity for foreign students and everyone who participated in it to get a closer look into each other’s culture. The field trip made a big impact on the Vietnamese students. We all got inspired by the meaning of the trip and are already looking forward to helping other students come on the next trip. In my opinion, the trip was amazing and purposeful in its meaning – the students could enjoy themselves while they learn about a new culture from the other side of the planet. On behalf of myself and all the other student helpers, we always warmly welcome the students from Westminster coming to Vietnam on the field trip; We wish the field trip could last longer! Once more, I’d like to thank everyone who participated and made the trip successful!
