On Thursday, 2nd of April 2026, 7 DEN students joined a group of psychology students led by Dr Kyoko Murakami and participated in a workshop called ‘Restorative Justice and Conflict Resolution’ held at St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace.
The workshop provided a safe space for students from around the world and all faiths to come together and speak on important topics that have a huge impact on each and every one of us, whether directly or indirectly. Concepts such as ‘war’, ‘peace’, ‘reconciliation’, ‘truth’, ‘justice’ and ‘mercy’ were explored in depth over 3 hours, and the discussion was very informative.
This was such a serene and peaceful experience, and I left St Ethelburga’s more aligned with the principles I believe in and so much more at peace than when I went in. It’s a very inviting and calming place to visit, and I would 100% recommend it to others. In a sense, it’s a place of healing and strengthening your inner self. I loved it and will definitely visit again!

That sounds like a really interesting project, especially with Dr. Murakami involved. It’s great to see institutions exploring restorative approaches.
