More Than Just a Conference: My Unforgettable Journey from TIMUN in Tashkent to the DEN Conference in London

From the 1st to the 3rd of May, the TIMUN conference was held in Tashkent, where students from the University of Westminster in London arrived, and that was exactly where my story of travelling to London began. From the very first day, I became close with these amazing people, and throughout their stay in Tashkent, we spent almost every evening together. We shared warm evenings at restaurants, jazz festivals, and bowling alleys, creating memories and friendships that instantly felt genuine and unforgettable. By the end of the week, it already felt like we had known each other for years.

The following week, my group and I flew to London for the DEN Conference. On our very first evening there, the same friends warmly welcomed us at our hotel and took us around the city. Every day, they spent time with us and showed us some of the best places London has to offer, making the entire experience even more special and meaningful. Over those two weeks, these people truly became like a second family to me.

The conference itself was organised perfectly, bringing together students from many different countries around the world. My group worked on SDG 16, focusing on peace, justice, and strong institutions. Our presentation was delivered with confidence and passion, and the discussion that followed was incredibly engaging. Answering questions from both participants and organisers made the experience feel not only academic but truly impactful and inspiring.

In the end, these two weeks became some of the most unforgettable moments of my life. I was genuinely amazed by how the DEN Conference not only encourages academic growth and international collaboration but also creates incredible opportunities for networking, cultural exchange, and building meaningful connections between students from all around the world.
