From Bangkok to Big Ben: My Journey to London and Global Education

The United Kingdom has a long history of being a democratic country and a significant power on the world stage. The capital, London, is a cultural and financial centre with a large and diverse population and a centre of learning and the arts. It is a perfect example of a country that can preserve tradition while developing new strategies. In addition to being an architectural beauty, London is also the home to some of the biggest news networks in the world, including the BBC and Reuters. It has also been used as a filming site for some of the best movies ever, including the Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes series.

My studies in sustainable development in international relations and my experience with SDG-related activities will be valuable additions. At the same time, I am also looking forward to interacting with my fellow students during the conference. This is an excellent opportunity, and I plan to grab it with both hands. When I return to my country, I expect to have a rich experience that will enrich my academic experience and give me practical ideas for my future career in international development.

London is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and I am looking forward to visiting some of the most iconic landmarks in the city in May 2025, which is one of the best times to be in London.

First and foremost, I would like to visit Buckingham Palace, which has stunning Victorian architecture, and watch The Changing of the Guard, which I have only read about. I also want to see Big Ben and Tower Bridge, two of the most famous landmarks of London.

I plan to go to a live show at the London Coliseum, an experience I believe I will not forget for a long time. Another great moment of my trip will be going to Knightsbridge to buy a meaningful souvenir that will help me bring back the London feeling, for example, a Harrods bag with a London design on it. On the last day of my trip, I would like to ride on the London Eye and enjoy the 360-degree view of the city and somehow capture places I have been to within the past few days. I am travelling to London for the first time and look forward to it. Since this is an academic journey, I expect to gain knowledge and expand my view. I also hope to meet other students from different backgrounds at your institution, to share ideas, and make lifelong friends. I am pleased to be one of the delegates at the “Inclusive Education for Global Change: Student Engagement in Sustainable Development” conference at the University of Westminster in London.

Besides that, I also want to develop a good relationship between Kasetsart University and the University of Westminster that may lead to future collaboration. In addition, I plan to keep in touch with my friends during this journey and continue exchanging ideas even after the trip.
